Okay, maybe not everyone needs an SMD hot air rework station, but it’s still a cool tool. It’s great for removing surface-mount parts from circuit boards. We use it for RC electronics: flight controllers, ESCs and some of our own designs. It’s also great for applying heat to just about anything. We’ve even used it to pre-heat all-metal hot ends for tightening. Just dial the temperature to what you need and heat away.
Confession time: we use this all the time for heat-shrink tubing. Set to 240C, it shrinks tubing perfectly, without an open flame, without soot and with less risk of melting insulation, braided sleeving or anything else.
