We use OctoPrint running on a Raspberry Pi to drive all of our in-house printers. It provides an easy way to get data to the devices without carrying around SD cards. A webcam makes it easy to keep an eye on the jobs in progress–even when we aren’t in the shop. This is especially handy when we’re running prints overnight. Adding a Wi-Fi interface allows us to put the printers anywhere without having to run cables.
