Today we’re swapping out the stock motor in the G0602 lathe for a new 3-phase motor that will work with the new VFD. This turned out to be much harder than expected because a couple of the motor mounting studs are nearly impossible to reach with ordinary wrenches.
I say it’s “just about” impossible because it does turn out to be possible–just very, very hard. Lifting the lathe would have made it easier, while adding another level of complexity to the project.
